Retrieval is not shared meaning
Industrial copilots are often a search box over documents: procedures, tickets, specs. That helps when the answer is already written down. It fails when the word “order” has to mean the same thing in ERP, MES, and the conversation - a shared object, not a similar paragraph.
Hybrid RAG is the tutorial frame for that gap: keep retrieval for the text, and put a knowledge graph under the terms the plant actually runs on.
Why this sits next to Causal AI
The July call opened with Xplain Data on cause-and-effect in discrete manufacturing. This tutorial is the companion: once you care about real drivers, the copilot has to use the same meaning of order, machine, and quality that the causal model uses. Text search alone does not carry that.
