Andrew Smith is Chief Operating Officer at Macco Robotics, a Spanish company building robots for hospitality and food service. His work sits where Data & AI, enterprise systems, and physical operations meet - getting robots out of the prototype stage and into dependable commercial use. Before Macco he spent more than 20 years on transformation programmes. He was Vice President, Digital Innovation Strategy & AI Enablement at Vorwerk Group; Head of Industry X.0 for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at Accenture; and Head of Digital Europe at Avanade, covering digital strategy, AI, analytics, IoT, and customer experience. He studied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and Computer Science at University College London, and is based in Málaga, Spain. On the AI² Advisory Board he strengthens the network's work on robotics and physical AI: the point where models meet machines, safety cases, and unit economics.
