Kick-off recap
Europe — May 2026
The AI² Kick-off on 7 May 2026 brought together practitioners for agentic AI in engineering, manufacturing, and European sovereignty — and an introduction to how Association Industrial AI (AI²) accelerates adoption.
We are publishing the session as five parts on our YouTube channel, grouped in the playlist AI² Kick-off – May 2026.
- Welcome to AI² — Vlad Larichev on why we formed the association and how industrial AI differs from classic software SDLC.
- Engineering fragmentation — Dr. Dirk Alexander Molitor (Accenture) on the V-model, agentic AI, and vertical vs horizontal integration.
- Sovereign AI in Europe — Dr.-Ing. Tobias Moritz Guggenberger (Fraunhofer ISST) on the sovereign AI stack and AI² as a translation mechanism.
Two partner keynotes remain unlisted on YouTube and are linked from this page after you sign in to the portal (free registration):
- Synera — AI agent platform for engineering (Dr.-Ing. Marc-Florian Uth).
- Manufacturing in practice — Dr. Lukas Moschko (Bosch Connected Industry).

During the kick-off, attendees introduced themselves and asked questions in the Zoom chat. Below is a stylized view of recurring topics — paraphrased and without personal details.
AttendeeHuman-in-the-loop agents
How do you define human approval steps inside agent workflows?
ParticipantPLM data & MCP access
Most PLM stacks still lack usable MCP connectors — how do you pull structure and context out?
EngineerAI beyond LLMs
We substitute heavy CFD or FEM runs with physics-informed graph operators where it fits.
