Industrial AI Maturity Model

The Industrial AI Maturity Model is a purpose-built framework for assessing and advancing AI readiness in manufacturing and process industries. Unlike generic enterprise AI frameworks, it is designed for OT data integration, semantic contextualization, deterministic safety guardrails, and earned-autonomy protocols.

The model is a 5 × 5 assessment matrix: five capability dimensions (Data, Code & Sovereignty; Algorithmic Capability; Governance & Safety; Organization & Culture; Strategy & Value Realization) mapped across five maturity levels from isolated/reactive (L1) to collaborative/ecosystem-driven (L5).

This is Draft v0.1 (28 July 2026), authored by Dr. Tobias M. Guggenberger for AI², and published as an open invitation to co-development. It is the current deliverable of the Strategy & business models expert group, chaired by Dr. Tobias Moritz Guggenberger and Dr. Lukas Moschko.
