Andrew Smith joins the AI² Advisory Board

Association Industrial AI (AI²) has appointed Andrew Smith to its Advisory Board. Smith is Chief Operating Officer at Macco Robotics, a Spanish robotics company putting service robots into everyday commercial settings.

Smith brings extensive experience in Data & AI, enterprise solutions, and the European robotics ecosystem - a combination that joins the data and AI foundations enterprises depend on with the operational discipline of making robots work reliably outside the lab.

That expertise is directly relevant for AI² as Industrial AI moves closer to physical operations. Robotics is where models meet machines, safety cases, and unit economics, and where the distance between a working demonstration and a deployed system is widest.

With his strong focus on the robotics ecosystem, Smith is an excellent addition to the Advisory Board and will help strengthen AI²'s activities in robotics and physical AI.

Smith's career spans more than 20 years at the intersection of AI, digital transformation, and industrial innovation. Before Macco Robotics he was Vice President, Digital Innovation Strategy & AI Enablement at Vorwerk Group. Earlier he led Accenture's Industry X.0 business for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and headed Digital Europe at Avanade - large-scale transformation work across manufacturing, engineering, IoT, and connected products. He is based in Málaga, Spain.

With Smith on the Advisory Board, AI² continues building an independent European network for Industrial AI.
